Several home improvement projects have recently been completed for eligible homeowners in the City of Hinton, thanks to matching funds from The Center for Rural Health Development, Inc. These improvements were made possible through the ‘Wild, Wonderful, and Healthy West Virginia’ program.
Mayor Scott commented, “Council President Jim Leslie, Councilwoman Janima Bond and private citizen Patti Crawford have been instrumental in this community effort to upgrade and improve health and safety standards for citizens who are eligible. Their work is a tribute to Shalom Tazewell who deceased July 20 this year and devoted much of her time and effort in pursuing this project.”
Having a healthy and thriving community is important for all business owners and entrepreneurs who desire to locate in vibrant communities where healthy choices are easy choices and the community environment supports healthy behaviors which not only lead to improved health, but also to economic prosperity for all to ‘Live, Work, and Play’.
This summer 2024, six (6) projects have been completed. Contractor Nick Willey and his employees have provided professional workmanship. Applications with necessary eligibility information may be picked up at City Hall. #CityofHinton #JimLeslie #HintonWV #HintonHelpforHomes #CenterforRuralHealthDevelopment
